These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Mohamed Mubarak, operating as "E-Light" ("E-Light", "we", "us"), and govern your use of the E-Light apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows and the website at elight.app (together, the "Service"). By downloading, accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Service for your own lawful use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
Some features require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of your information and for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract, or have the consent described in Section 16 / our Privacy Policy where used in education.
The free tier provides the simulator, the 20 calculators (results), a limited set of components, and local project saves. On iOS and Android, the free tier is supported by banner advertising, and by using it you agree to the display of ads. Ads are not shown on macOS or Windows. E-Light Pro removes ads on all platforms. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising data is handled and how to manage your advertising consent.
You agree not to: (a) copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the Service except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law; (b) resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except as permitted; (c) circumvent paywalls, entitlements, or security; (d) use the Service unlawfully or to infringe others' rights; or (e) interfere with the operation of the Service.
You are solely responsible for verifying any result against the currently adopted edition of the applicable standards and codes (such as IEC, NEC/NFPA 70, IET/BS 7671, ISO, or local regulations) and for review and sign-off by a licensed or qualified professional before relying on it. E-Light must not be used as the sole basis for final design, construction, installation, certification, or any safety-critical decision. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on outputs of the Service.
You retain ownership of the circuits and projects you create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate the Service for you (for example, to provide cloud sync to Pro subscribers). You are responsible for Your Content and for maintaining your own backups.
The Service, including its software, engine, component library, designs, logos, and the "E-Light" name and "Build. Simulate. Power." mark, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you no rights to our trademarks or branding.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, E-LIGHT AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) US$50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless E-Light from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to comply with law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6–11) will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date, and material changes will take effect as permitted by law. Your continued use after changes means you accept them.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of the Red Sea Governorate (Hurghada), Egypt, unless applicable consumer-protection law (including Egypt’s Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018) gives you other rights that cannot be waived.
If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies: these Terms are between you and E-Light only, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app; Apple is not responsible for any product warranties or for addressing any claims relating to the app (including product liability, legal/regulatory compliance, or consumer protection); and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist-supporting", and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.
