This Privacy Policy explains how Mohamed Mubarak, operating as "E-Light" ("E-Light", "we", "us"), collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the E-Light apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows and the website at elight.app (together, the "Service").
When the app encounters a crash or a handled error, we collect a crash report and related diagnostic data (such as stack traces, device model, operating system version, and app version) through Firebase Crashlytics on iOS, Android and macOS, and through Sentry on Windows. We use this data solely to identify, prioritize, and fix stability problems.
When you are signed in to E-Light, crash reports and diagnostic data are linked to your account using an internal user identifier assigned by our authentication provider. This is not your email address, name, or any other directly identifying information — it is an opaque identifier used so we can distinguish crashes affecting different users and reach out if needed. When you are not signed in, crash reports are collected without any account association. Crash and diagnostic data are not used for advertising, are not used to track you across other apps or websites, and are not shared with third parties beyond the crash reporting providers listed in Section 4.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service and your subscription), legitimate interests (to secure, maintain and improve the Service), consent (for advertising and any optional analytics, where required), and legal obligation.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as needed to run the Service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Account authentication and cloud project sync |
| RevenueCat | Managing subscriptions and entitlements |
| Apple, Google | Payment processing and purchase validation on iOS, Android, and macOS |
| Paddle | Payment processing and Merchant of Record on Windows (web checkout) |
| Google AdMob (Google LLC) | Advertising on the free tier |
| Google User Messaging Platform (Google LLC) | Collecting and managing advertising consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland, and US state privacy laws) |
| Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) | Crash reporting and diagnostics |
| Sentry | Windows crash reporting |
We may also disclose information to comply with law, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, safety and property of E-Light, our users, or others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
The free tier of E-Light on iOS and Android is supported by banner advertising provided by Google AdMob. Ads are not shown on desktop platforms (macOS, Windows), and E-Light Pro removes all ads on all platforms.
The full list of Google's ad-technology partners is available at Google's ad partners page.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain your consent before serving personalized ads, in accordance with the GDPR and equivalent local laws. If you decline personalized ads, or if you decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS, we and our advertising partner will serve non-personalized ads only, meaning the ads you see will be based on the current context (such as your approximate region) rather than your prior activity.
If you are located in a US state with applicable privacy laws (such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah), we present a consent message that allows you to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising purposes.
On iOS, Android, and macOS, subscriptions are sold and billed by the app store you downloaded the app from (Apple App Store or Google Play) and are subject to that store's terms and privacy practices. On Windows, subscriptions are sold and billed through our subscription provider using a web-based checkout. In all cases, we receive confirmation of your purchase and entitlement status, not your full payment details. See our Terms of Use for subscription and cancellation details.
We keep account and project data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain information as required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes. You may delete your projects in the app, and you may request deletion of your account at any time by visiting elight.app/account-deletion or by emailing support@elight.app. Account deletion removes your account, cloud-synced projects, and associated personal data within 30 days, except where limited retention is required by law (such as billing and tax records).
When you delete your account, your RevenueCat customer record — a purchase/subscription reference linked to an internal account identifier — is retained to support cross-platform purchase recovery if you later create a new account and restore purchases. This record contains no personal data beyond the identifier and the purchase history already disclosed above.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and delete, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them; we do not sell personal information. If you are in Egypt, the Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 (PDPL) applies, including rights to access, correct, erase, and withdraw consent regarding your personal data, and to be informed of any data breach. To exercise any right, contact us at support@elight.app. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Egypt, the Personal Data Protection Center).
E-Light is designed as an educational tool that may be used by schools, universities, and students. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age required by the laws of your country, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate consent. Where E-Light is used in an educational setting, the institution is responsible for obtaining any consents required under applicable laws (such as COPPA, FERPA, or GDPR provisions for minors). If you believe a child has provided us personal information without proper consent, contact us and we will delete it.
We may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union, depending on the provider. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be notified as required by law.
